REAL ESTATE MARKET UPDATE The final reports are in and the Denver Real Estate Market ended up higher that originally estimated – 8%! Inventory in the Denver metropolitan area is at a 35-year low at less than 7,000 units. MLS (Metrolist) data shows that single family homes in Jefferson County saw an average month over month increase in February 2012 closed sales of 41% vs. closed sales in February of 2011. Condominium properties in Jefferson County saw an average month over month increase of 23.4%, even though four of the six MLS areas in Jefferson County posted decreases for February 2012. “W” RAIL LINE UPDATE
RTD is inviting everyone to participate in a photo contest on Facebook called “Catch the Train.” The winner will receive two VIP tickets to ride the W Light Rail Line before it opens to the public. Entrants need to “Catch the Train” by snapping a picture of their test trains. There is a new winner every week until the April 26th Grand Opening. Read the rules and entry procedures here. Artists have been selected for the Knox, Garrison, Jeffco-Golden, and the Lakewood-Wadsworth Stations. In addition, The Regional Transportation District West Rail Line project has been named one of the most significant construction projects of 2012 by the Associated General Contractors of America. The Easter Bunny returns to the Link! March 30th from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon, the Easter Bunny will make an appearance and kids can register to participate in the Easter egg hunt. Jefferson County Public Library is in the running for national award. The Library has been selected as a 2013 National Medal for Museum and Library Service finalist by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The National Medal is the nation’s highest honor conferred on museums and libraries for service to the community and celebrates institutions that make a difference for individuals, families, and communities. Winners will be announced in April.
