REAL ESTATE MARKET UPDATE:
CoreLogic reported today that during the first 6 months of this year, nationwide average home prices jumped 10% – the fastest pace in 36 years. Some analysts are pointing toward a slowing trend due to rising interest rates and rise in inventory of homes for sale, but prices are still on the incline. Our multiple listing service (Metrolist) data shows that single family homes in Jefferson County saw an average month over month increase in July 2013 closed sales of 28.6% vs. closed sales in July of 2012. Condominium properties in Jefferson County saw an average month over month increase of 73.39%, and year over year increases for the first half of the year came in at 27.84% for single family home sales and 27% for condominium properties.
