Everybody should love where they live. I certainly do. The gorgeous beauty I enjoy both at home and while driving into or out of Pradera in Parker, Colorado is breathtaking. But, living here is more than just enjoying the stunning Colorado scenery. It is enjoying my neighbors and the activities that happen all year long. I love participating in and even sponsoring some of the seasonal activities at Pradera.
The Pradera community has been very active as summer closed out and fall has made its entrance. The annual Pradera picnic was a major success with one of the largest turnouts ever. The band “Trail” was a huge hit for the second year in a row. Sponsored by the Pradera Social Committee. The Kentwood Company and I provided hamburgers and hot dogs for everyone. A good time was had by all. This event is growing each year.
Earlier in the day, I also sponsored a Shredding Day for Pradera residents to shred any private documents on-site at the community center and pool. Like the afternoon picnic, the morning shredding day had its best attendance ever with over 75 families participating this year.

The Pradera Country Club isn't the only open space here. Pam and I love wide-open spaces in our neighborhood.
September also remained busy throughout the month. A Texas Hold –Em Tournament to benefit Ponderosa High School cheerleaders was held at the community center to the enjoyment of all of us riverboat gamblers. A concert on the Green with The Moses Jones Bank was held at the Pradera Golf Club and attended by young and old alike. The Golf Cart Drive-In movie featured “The Lorax’ and was held on the driving range. Excellent weather throughout the month aided outdoor activities including the men’s challenge and women’s Solheim Golf Events.
By the way, it appears a small herd of deer have moved into Pradera as there have been numerous sightings reported lately. At the writing of this blog their mailing address is unknown and the county clerk and recorders office has no record of a Mr. and Mrs. Deer purchasing a residence. More to follow as information becomes available.
