We love our little town. Parker, Colorado is a Denver suburb but it feels like small Colorado town out of a western movie. It is in full holiday swing with many activities in a many neighborhoods. Parker is fortunate to have organized communities which promote festivities for the holiday season. Our community is Pradera, a subdivision built around the Pradera Golf Course, and where we have lived for the past seven years and I have worked as a Pradera Realtor.
For example, in addition to the numerous days of golf due to the unseasonably warm weather, The Club at Pradera has had many social activities to entertain the entire family during the holidays. Starting with the Mt. Elbert Kids Club every Friday night, children are entertained with movies, food and fun activities. The Knife and Fork Friday Night Dinner was held for the final time during 2012 on November 30th. This weekly dinner hit will commence again in January 2013. The annual Pradera Pride Toy Drive was held through December 15th with all toys to be distributed through the Douglas County Task Force.
For fitness through the holiday season, a Boot Camp is being held every Wednesday and Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the fitness center and outside when weather permits. The camp will be held for the entire month to assist with maintaining one’s slim, trim figure through these tempting times. It will also assure everyone can still fit into the new ski wear they purchased at the Oakley Ski Apparel Sale held in the golf pro shop on November 30rd. Prices were discounted 25% off all the new high tech gear for the coming season.
December 1st saw a gingerbread house decorating class followed the next morning with The 4th Annual Santa Breakfast on Sunday, December 2nd. A Texas Hold Em Poker Tournament Fundraiser was then held at the Community Center on Friday, December 7th. Half of all funds raised went to our local youth baseball team, The Yard Dawgs. A great time was had by all who attended, as usual.
The Club at Pradera hosted on Friday, December 14th hosted a 50% Off Wine Night at the clubhouse. A special wine list will be available in addition to the regular supply. Mrs. Claus and Friends will be making a guest appearance on December 20th to spice up the horse and carriage rides, cookies, decorating station, Santa Letter Drop Box and Christmas Buffet Dinner for the evening.
Finally, the annual New Year’s Eve Dinner/Party Celebration will close out the month with the biggest of bangs. This event is always sold out and lasts well past the magic midnight moment as we ring in the New Year.
Pradera is rocking and wishes everyone the best for 2013 !!!
