Many Littleton residents come to the annual Candlelight Walk followed by Christmas Tree Lighting in in our historic downtown.
(Ed Note: Dennis and Dawn Martin don’t just selll homes in Littleton. They love living there too.)
We have lived in Littleton Colorado, a Denver suburb, for over 40 years. One of the many things we love about the Littleton area is the warm community spirit we feel all year long, but especially at the Holidays. One event our family and friends look forward to each year is the Annual Candlelight Walk and Tree Lighting Ceremony and it will be here next week!
It’s hard to believe that the Holidays are just around the corner but they are starting next week with Thanksgiving and The 29th Annual Candlelight walk. The Tree Lighting in Historic Downtown Littleton is next Friday November 23 at 5pm following the picturesque walk.
Not only will my children and friends be in Downtown to share the joy of this evening, we have new members of the family to share this evening, two grandchildren Brayden and Savannah.
The 29th edition of the Littleton tradition will feature holiday festivities with the evening ending with the lighting of trees on Main Street. Santa Clause and his sleigh will make their way down Main Street magically illuminating each block with more than one million lights on the trees and buildings. The Downtown merchants will have open houses and Santa will be available for pictures at the town Hall Arts Center. Local choirs and musical groups will provide entertainment at various main street locations while waiting for Santa to arrive.
Main Street will be close to traffic shortly after 5pm. Santa will begin his ride down the street starting at the court house at 6:30pm.
The crowd cumulates at the west end of Main Street where one lucky childs name will be drawn to help Santa throw the switch on lighted trees in the plaza.
Be sure to bring your camera you will not be disappointed. Fun and Joy for the entire family.
Happy Holidays!
Wow. Looks like a great time! Colorado is so gorgeous, one of my favourite places in the world.
We went to a similar event with a friend in a nearby town a few years back and loved it. It seemed like such a wonderful neighborhood event that seemed to bring everyone closer together as a community. It was just so cute and neat that we’ve been trying to spread the word an get one started near us.
I went to this event–it was truly inspiring…
