As the spring season seemed to come upon us quickly, I can’t believe it is almost gone already. Spring is my favorite time of year. But, the warm weather also brought some action to the north side of town. Brighton, Reunion and Commerce City have all been a mecca of activity for the past few months.
In driving the area, it is easy to notice all the building that has been happening. Carapace Homes continue to build new units in both Outlook Point and Buffalo Run near 120th and Chambers. These are unique homes in the upper $200,000’s range, with several models being built right on the golf course at Buffalo Run. Richmond Homes has moved their office to the north side of Reunion. This is a huge event as most of their previous building was on the south side of 104th and in Fronterra Village. This puts Richmond back into the heart of the Reunion subdivision. These homes are also running in the upper $200’s. The Richmond Homes are very close to the golf course and the main park.
Reunion also welcomes back Lennar Homes. Lennar was one of the original builders in the area and stopped their building during the housing crash. It is very refreshing to see them come back into the community and filling in all the empty lots they never built on. They have only had their trailer up for about 2 weeks and I can already see 3 lots that have been sold. The base prices of the Lennar homes are running between $294,000 and $319,000. It is nice to see the values continuing to rise. Welcome Back Lennar!
Shea Homes, the master builder in Reunion, continues to build their contemporary style homes around the park and pool. It is nice to note that in April, the home builders in Reunion have pulled over 20 new permits for new homes – not too bad for one neighborhood in one month. Don’t forget that Memorial Day always marks the opening of the pool in Reunion.
But the residential side is not the only excitement happening in the area. Now that the new King Soopers has been open for almost a year, it has become a destination point for many of the outlying areas. I hear people from Brighton, Green Valley Ranch and Denver are all driving past their local supermarkets to go to the King Soopers Marketplace in Reunion. With all the activity in the center, new buildings are now beginning to appear. Reunion will actually be getting its very own McDonalds…..Yahoo! This should be open in about 60 days. From what was once a barren area out by DIA, Reunion has a Sonic, Del Taco, Taco Bell and now a McDonalds. Things are definitely beginning to blossom out here.
And, as a final note, you can see the signs of Fast Tracks completing their route off of Tower Road and following Pena Blvd into the Denver International Airport, just south of Reunion. If you haven’t driven the area in a while, it is definitely worth a trip out to see what is happening on this end of town.
