For many years, Reunion has been the Northeast Corridor’s most notable Master Planned Community featuring new homes for sale. However, as times change and Denver International Airport becomes more of a major business hub within the region, new communities are seizing the opportunity to develop residential real estate in the area. Therefore, I would like to introduce the residential neighborhood of HIGH POINT – DIA’s closest neighbor.
High Point is located off of Tower Road and 64th Avenue and is a convenient 8 minute drive to the gates at DIA. Its boundaries are set within the boundaries of two particular cities – Denver and Aurora and is planned be composed of several smaller communities under the umbrella brand of High Point.
High Point has a style and a builder for everyone. New homes are starting in the mid $250’s and are being built by three of Denver’s top builders – Richmond American Homes, CalAtlantic Homes and DR Horton. The community has a variety of different amenities and when complete will include all the following: a pool and cabana, private residence club, 13 miles of trails and sidewalks, 200 acres of parks and open space, a K-8 knowledge charter school with a pre-school and a proposed light rail station on the DIA to Union station route. There is a proposed business district and retail town center with several restaurants and businesses within the community and a proposed 18 hole champion golf course all in the planning. In 2011, Gaylord Entertainment announced its proposed plans to build a 500 room resort and conference center within the High Point community; this is still in the early development stages.
The community is still in its infancy stage with all three builders in full building mode. One of the parks and the community pool and cabana is also complete. The K-8 High Point Academy opened in the winter of 2011 with over 500 students. Being a Master Planned Community, one of its main objectives is to bring the community together through a variety of community events. From the Spring Bash to the Dog Days where they celebrate our four–legged friends, more events will be on the horizon. Be sure to visit their website at HIGH POINT to get a complete listing of their upcoming events, activities, maps, and builders.
This Northeaster Corridor has been growing steadily throughout the years and it has been great to watch its growth. While there is still a lot to come and further development is planned along the way, it is wonderful to be a part of a growing and thriving community. As a very happy resident of Reunion, I welcome High Point to the area as another worthy residential development. Welcome to High Point!
