Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone this, at least in my eyes, officially begins the Christmas Holiday Season. I love how much there is to do in and around my Reunion neighborhood.
It always amazes me how people always seem happier and are more festive during this time than they are during the rest of the year. Could it possibly be that the spirit of giving actually brings about the best in people? If so, then we should all be giving more throughout the year instead of waiting just for Christmas. But, nonetheless, this is the season of giving.
This also becomes one of the busiest times of the year with everyone decorating their homes both inside and out, the shopping malls are all dressed as festive as they can be, the airport is as busy as ever with everyone traveling to see family and friends and of course there is never a shortage of things to do during this season. Much like the rest of metro Denver, the northeast area has plenty of activities to keep us all busy and to enhance our seasonal experience. I have listed just a few of some of the major events going on in and around our local community.
City of Brighton: Festival of Lights. Saturday December 14th. Downtown activities begin at 11:00 am with the winter festival activities beginning at 2:00 pm. The Festival of Lights parade will begin at 5:00 pm. Visit FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS to get more detailed information.
City of Thornton: Thornton Winterfest. Friday, December 13th thru Sunday December 15th. There will be a holiday marketplace, turning on of the holiday lights, skating rink and fireworks. Visit THORNTON WINTERFEST for more detailed information.
City of Northglenn: Noel Northglenn. Friday, December 6th from 5:30 – 8:30 pm. Photos with Santa, Crolers, Turn on the city lights, and a bake sale. Visit NOEL NORTHGLENN for more details.
Reunion, Colorado: Saturday, December 7th from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Holiday Crafts, Horse Drawn Hayrides & Santa. Visit REUNION HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS for more information.
Of course, don’t forget to go to the Parade of Lights in downtown Denver. Friday, December 6th @ 8:00 pm and Saturday, December 7th at 6:00 pm. Visit PARADE OF LIGHTS for more information.
As it is every year, the Christmas Season is a very special time for our family. There are plenty of gatherings, great meals and wonderful memories being made with family and friends. I hope to see you at one of these events. From my family to yours, may you enjoy a joyous, safe and blessed Christmas Season.
