I am often asked what are the best luxury suburbs like Cherry Hills Village in the Denver metro area. It’s a natural question for people moving here from out of town. They want to know which suburbs have the best custom homes. They wonder which suburbs have the best public and private schools. And, they want to know where the crime rates are the lowest. So, I decided to write this series of blog articles about
Actually, there are lots of options for luxury Denver suburbs throughout the entire metropolitan area. So, let’s start with Cherry Hills Village and its next door neighbor, Greenwood Village.
Cherry Hills Village Real Estate
Cherry Hills Village is the most obvious example of an exclusive community in Denver’s South suburbs. It was recently ranked for in Bloomberg’s survey of America’s most wealthy cities. Moreover, it also has what could arguably be called the top rated country Day school in the Denver Metro area. Kent Denver in Cherry Hills Village spreads out on sprawling 210 acre campus. It’s a popular choice for Cherry Hills residents. But, the public schools rank among the best in the State. Plus, The Cherry Creek high school also ranks in the top rated high school in Denver metro and all it area and the state of Colorado.
Last year, there were no violent crimes reported entire Village. And, Cherry Hills police always been very polite and vigilant in my experience living there. It the kind of neighborhood that is quiet and generally very peaceful.
From Gated Communities to Horse Properties
As for a variety of housing opportunities, different kinds of neighborhoods provide many choices in styles of communities. Gated communities include Glenmor Country Club and the Buell Mansion. Buell Mansion subdivision comprises over 100 newer homes built on the estate of Temple Buell, Denver’s reclusive millionaire.
But. the old mansion house still serves a role as a community center with its swimming pool and tennis court. Land in Buell Mansion is still available to build a brand new home on parcels ranging from ¼ to 2.5 acres.
Also, some of the older properties in Cherry Hills Village offer zoning for horses and even
ditch water rights for irrigation. In addition, other more conventional subdivisions include, Cherry Hills North, Cherry Hills East, Cherrydale, Cherrymoor and Mansfield Heights.
Here, homes in those and other communities range from $1m-$2m as a general rule.
