New Town Builders is a local Denver home builder that has received the Grand Winner Award for National Top Innovation by the US Department of Energy on October 4th. The home series that specifically was recognized was the Zen series in Stapleton. This series is featured as the only Zero Energy Home project as a standard in the country. What that means to the Homeowner is that the average monthly energy bills will be around $20. When I visited the model homes in Conservatory Green, Stapleton’s new community, I spoke to Bill Gleeson the Community Consultant and had the opportunity to see what New Town is currently doing. Bill demonstrated their new sales office and showed off the home building science that they are practicing. Two features that stood out where their advanced framing of 9” exterior walls with R values over 30 and also the the fact that their furnace is set to only turn on when outside temperatures are under 10 degrees. The model homes climate inside felt very evenly distributed as far as temperature balance between floors and also the air exchange feeling very fresh for airflow. As Bill said “I can talk all day about the energy factors but, New Town is also known for innovative architecture so let’s walk through these great models.”
New Town Builders Zen Series offers 3 floor plans ranging from 1,878 to 2,115 square feet in size plus optional finished basements to add an additional 900-1,000 square feet. All of these plans offer 3 bedrooms/3 bathrooms with optional 4th or in some plans 5th bedrooms. The price ranges start at 429,000 and go up to $474,900. A buyer can purchase any of the plans and with a finished basement and surrounded by fantastic parks could have a total purchase price of $525,000. One important piece to remember is that with a zero energy home this would equate to purchasing a non-energy efficient home for $460,000 and end up having the same total monthly bills.
Conservatory Green is Stapleton’s newest community. There are many great amenities to living here. Twenty eight percent of the neighborhood is a green space or park giving the homeowners great trails and parks to enjoy. Other great amenities are the Northfield outdoor mall just a few blocks away, as well great schools, neighborhood pools, and soon in 2016 the light rail stop which will take you to the airport, downtown, or to many Denver destinations.
When considering Stapleton and Conservatory Green, Stapleton’s fresh and new community, with 9 years experience in selling Stapleton you should consider New Town Builders for their dedication to customer service, innovative design, energy features, and most important just a great local company that takes a lot of ownership in doing the right thing across the board.
