Denver Realtors Dennis and Dawn Martin employ the Elves at Christmas for their friends and clients.
My Daugher Dawn and I magically turn into Christmas Realtors every year. Actually, I have been a Realtor in the Denver metro area for over 40 years. During that time, I have developed some wonderful and rewarding relationships with my clients and customers. Many of them are now true friends. Dawn, my oldest daughter, has been my business partner for over 20 years and now she’s in the spirit too.
She has also has wonderful experiences with clients and customers. I guess that Christmas-time makes us think back to what is really rewarding about this crazy business.
Photos With Santa
This past weekend The Christmas Realtors hosted Santa Clausat our Highlands Ranch Coldwell Banker office. We provided free pictures for our clients, customers, friends and family. One example of my relationship with a past client is Kerry and his family.
Dawn and I have sold Kerry and his family over 10 homes over the past years. This past Saturday, Kerry, his daughter, son in law and two grand kids came for Santa pictures. I could not remember how long Kerry and his family had been coming to Santa’s photos. It has been 11 years, may have missed one year being out of town. His oldest grandson is 11 years old and his sister is 7 years old, 11 years they have been coming to Santa.
That’s just one example of our business relationships turning into friendships.
The Teddy Bear from Santa
The Christmas Realtors gave out teddy bears to every child that had their picture taken with Santa. One young girl 6 years old took her teddy bear home with her and slept with it all night. Her mom asked her in the morning: “Why did you sleep with the teddy bear?” The daughter said because “that’s the first time Santa gave me a present directly”. She slept well that night with the bear from Santa in her arms.
Realtor: Patron of The Arts
This year, a future artist presented me with a Christmas drawing. Julie’s daughter is 10 years old and each holiday season she draws me a holiday picture. This year she drew a picture for me with Santa his reindeer. Also, she added a snowman. That’s her masterpiece to right. Yes she is only 10 years old. And, she is a future artist.
Let me squeeze in just one more story that touched my heart this year. Dave’s 4 year old boy came for pictures this year for the first time. I heard he might be a little afraid. But, as soon as Dave’s son turned the corner and saw Santa he made a bee line to Old Saint Nick. And, the boy gave him a big hug. It was all smiles. Yes, there was another child in Santa’s lap but that didn’t matter. He saw Santa! Ye,s he gave Santa his list for Christmas and that made us all laugh.
It’s the season for Santa stories. But, the stories of friendship between this Christmas Realtor and his clients is a story for all seasons. Merry Christmas from our family to yours.
What a heart-warming story, and great example of the “why” we are in this business! Thanks for sharing, and Merry Christmas to you as well!
Great job you’ve done for many many many years Mr Dennis and Dawn! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
