Are your kids moving back in? Consider the brand new homes for Multi-Generational Living in South Denver Metro Suburbs at Stepping Stone.
I love helping my clients “Buy Smart” especially with brand new homes. But, I recently came across the new concept of “multi-generational living” at Shea Homes “Stepping Stone” project.
Today, more and more families are combining their households with grown kids moving back home. The reasons can vary from divorce, child care needs, affordable housing etc.
My own family is preparing to combine households with my sister and her two kids moving in with my parents. The difficulty was finding a home that provided low maintenance for my aging parents. At the same time, it had to be in a a neighborhood that was kid friendly for my niece and nephew. We found the perfect combination with a brand new home Shea Homes in Stepping Stone.
Multi-Generational Living Close To RidgeGate Town Center

Stepping Stone in Parker is close to RidgeGate Town Center.
Stepping Stone is located just south of Meridian Village. That’s technically in Parker but feels closer-in to Lone Tree and Denver Tech Center. It provides easy access to I-25 from the RidgeGate exit and is within close proximity to RidgeGate Town Center, Sky Ridge Hospital, Downtown Parker, Lone Tree, and Hess Reservoir.
The Stepping Stone Community is made of 5 thoughtful “neighborhoods” for multi-generational living. And, it features 3 collections of new homes to fit your lifestyle and budget. We found a plan in their Watercolor Collection which is built in the “Butterfly Neighborhood”. This neighborhood is an enclave of 127 all Ranch style homes. While you still have access to the Lantern House and pool, it features a more tranquil Butterfly Park and pond.
Customize Your New Home at Stepping Stone
With Shea’s available finished basement option, we were able to build a new home with separate living spaces for my parents and my sister and her kids. That’s multi-generational living. So, we were also able to customize the home to their style by working with the Shea Design Center to select everything from cabinets, lighting, carpet and paint. If the idea of building a home from the ground up seems to be daunting, they also have homes already built and ready to go.
