The Preserve in Greenwood Village is a luxury homes neighborhood with a natural wetlands preserved as a centerpiece of the community. It has trails, community pool and tennis and is located in the Denver Tech Center, shopping, nearby restaurants and a beautiful public library.
History of The Preserve
In 1936, Marjorie Perry purchased 200 acres at the southern end of Denver for a pastoral retreat where she could ride her horses and enjoy the natural solitude, away from the bustling city.
Today, there are over 500 luxury homes nestled on 3/4-2 acre lots, surrounded open space. There is also the fabulous Marjorie Perry Nature reserve. Its 55 acres include wetlands, trails, waterfowl, eagles and foxes. The trail by the Highline Canal offers cycling, walking and even horseback riding. It’s all part of the 71 mile Highline Canal running though the southern suburbs of Denver. Almost 2 miles of this canal runs through the Preserve.
It’s hard to believe that this close-in suburb used to be farm land and wide open spaces. Yet, The Preserve in Greenwood Village has captured some of the open space and pastoral feeling of days gone by.
