This is the third in a series of articles about luxury homes for sale in Denver and suburbs. Up to now, we have talked about Cherry Hills Village and Greenwood Village in Denver South suburbs. But the city, the actual city limits of Denver, contain pocket neighborhoods of luxury homes for sale too.
However, while luxury Denver real estate located in suburban neighborhoods is priced from $1.5 million, luxury city homes really start at $2 million and up. There is a clear premium for location near city center. And, you pay more money per square foot of living space for that premium location than you would for the same home in Denver suburbs.
Denver Country Club For Luxury Homes

When you first think of luxury homes in Denver, the Denver country club neighborhood usually comes up first. This is where the old money has lived for years. Located around the historic and exclusive Denver country club, this neighborhood exudes opulence and wealth. But, insiders now that you have to live in the gates of country club if you’re anybody.
Sure, other part of the Denver Country Club neighborhood offer some luxury homes priced usually between $900,000 and $2m. But, homes with “the gates” are are generally grand estates and homes on larger lots.

What are the Gates of Country Club? That’s the area between Speer Boulevard and Fourth Avenue just east of University Boulevard. There are two actual cement monuments. They are reminiscent of actual fortress gates. But, you have to use your imagination after all. Still, the broad tree-lined streets and expansive lots remind me of some of the best neighborhoods in the country. I grew up on the North Shore’s Chicago in this area reminds me of neighborhoods in Wilmette, Kenilworth, Winnetka and Lake Forest.
The landed gentry lives here and, while most of their children attend posh private schools. But, even the local public elementary school is one of the best in the city. Bromwell Elementary also serves the pricey but less expensive neighborhoods nearby such as Country Club North as well as the Cherry Creek shopping district neighborhood located next door.
The Denver Country Club itself is an attractive amenity for members of the Club. But that’s a hard ticket to find. Membership requires a sponsor and a rather large wallet. But, the courses delightful, the clubhouse charming and the social life engaging. Children have access to a pool and tennis as well as Junior golf programs. But, you’ll fork over well over $100,000 even if you a sponsor. Still, the food in the restaurant and the service are really good when compared to other clubs.
Walk To Cherry Creek Shopping Neighborhood

The Cherry Creek Shopping Center and surrounding boutique shops offer another amenity within walking distance of the Denver country club. Because, this neighborhood is contiguous to Cherry Creek North neighborhood and its famous indoor and pricey indoor mall. There, you will find Nordstrom’s, Macy’s and exclusive boutiques such as BeBes, Coach, and Tesla. That’s right, Tesla is located inside the enclosed Cherry Creek Mall.
Around the Cherry Creek neighborhood, discover some of the best restaurants in Denver such as 801 Chophouse, Dell frescoes real and the Cherry Creek Grill. For Italian, consider Quality Italian, North or even Piatti or Hillstone for more casual atmosphere. In addition, wander through some of the local art galleries and refresh yourself in one of several delightful coffee shops.
So, the central location and historic character of the Denver Country Club neighborhood make it a worthy candidate for someone looking for luxury real estate in Denver.
