It’s the legacy of an exceptional real estate company with Denver’s top performing Realtors. I just returned from The Kentwood Company two-day mountain retreat in the Vail Valley. This may be the last of company sponsored retreats for the education and bonding of its agents.
Luisa Starkel was recognized for her one-year anniversary as the new Managing Broker for the office. Agents rolled in a gorgeous anniversary cake decorated with “Happy Anniversary, Luisa” and she was clearly surprised and could hardly say a few words of acceptance.

Bowling at Solaris Condos replaced golf as our “bonding activity” this year due to snow in the Vail Valley.
From our Welcome Meeting, we were supposed to golf that afternoon but the weather changed and snowflakes started flying as can happen unexpectedly in the Vail Valley during October. Our illustrious Owners, Peter Niederman and Bill Moore, instead improvised a spur of the moment bowling tournament at Vail’s classiest Blowing Alley, Bol in Solaris Condominiums. It was a lot of fun and most of us hadn’t bowled in many years. But, top flight athletes like Bob Kelley, Roy Lopez, John Firtzpatrick and Doug Hutchins pounded down the strikes and spares.
Dinner and entertainment followed at Arrowhead Country Club. The next morning we breakfasted together before agents hurried back to Greenwood Village for weekend business. My wife and I stayed on for an extra day. We enjoyed the world-class Spa at the Westin as well a very special French Dinner at the 5 Star Mirabelle Restaurant. Even with a little snow, the fall colors were in full bloom and brisk walks were thoroughly enjoyed.

Kentwood Owner and Former President of the National Association of Realtors, Bill Moore, dances with Realtor legend, Edie Marks.
I continue to be amazed Kentwood Real Estate has such exceptional agents both as individuals and a group. Props have to go to Bill and Peter for continuing this exceptional tradition of an annual mountain retreat. We are probably the only firm where the mountain retreat still exists. It is another example of what builds our teamwork at Kentwood Real Estate. Maybe that’s why we continue to outpace the market in real estate sales.
What a great place to have a meeting. A setting like that makes it a lot easier to congratulate success.
I hope you were able to enjoy the amazing colors of the turning aspens this weekend!
Even though Fall is just about over and winter is officially on it’s way (as you experienced from your cancelled game of golf), many of the Summit and Vail aspens continue to show off a beautiful range of reds, oranges, golds, yellows, and browns. It’s one of our favorite times of year up here in the mountains.
And of course, congratulations on continuing your mountain retreat tradition… as well as your many excellent achievements!
Vail in Fall is terrific and we did get to go on a long walk by the river and the more ambitious hiked up the mountain in the snow. The Westin at Riverfront is one of the best I’ve seen and you can book your own visit there inexpensively. Hotwire offers what appears to be this Avon, Colorado, $600 per night room at $99 on their site: http://www.hotwire.com/hotel/details.jsp?actionType=2&inputId=hotel-results&searchId=6124524958&selectedSolutionId=136655004290&selectedPGoodId=238428474566
Nice place! It’s good to be in this place when having a business meeting. You can unwind while working. Congratulations to your success!
