My Brokerage, Kenwood Real Estate, kicks off a New Year with new ownership. But, otherwise the company hasn’t changed at all. This will be the first full year that Warren Buffet’s real estate division of Berkshire Hathaway will own Kentwood Real Estate.
Berkshire Hathaway’s Home Services is Warren Buffet

Kentwood is now owned by Berkshire Hathaway but you will never this sign or logo there,
Home Service of America bought our local firm last summer But,no one can see any differences in the operation. The name is the same. And, the management is the same. Advertising, signs and the web site have not changed at all. In fact, most of clients may not even be aware of the ownership change either.
Home Services has built and bought real estate companies across the country. In fact, there is an H.S.A. office in northwest Denver. But, Kentwood Real Estate retains its local name and no noticeable national branding. I suppose that Warren Buffet just didn’t want to change anything about the leading luxury real estate Brokerage in the Denver area.
Kentwood Real Estate Sells $2B Annually
Three offices of Kentwood Real Estate employ about 220 Brokers. My Greenwood Village office in the Denver Tech Center alone sold nearly $1billion is home sales in 2016. Kentwood Cherry Creek is located in the Cherry Creek Shopping Center neighborhood. And, Kentwood City Properties serves the downtown Denver luxury real estate market.
In 2016, total sales volume of all three offices approached $2 billion. That’s incredible sales per agent. And, there are no part-time Brokers in our company. Plus, our firm has a dominate share of the Denver luxury real estate market. We sell the lion’s share of higher-priced homes from Cherry Hills and Greenwood Village mansions to luxury homes and condominiums Downtown and in the Cherry Creek neighborhood.
Peter Niederman and Bill Moore, long time Denver real estate operators, purchased Kentwood Real Estate from four selling Brokers in 2007. Since then, home sales have soared. Last year, the firm sold over $2 billion in just residential home sales. The average selling price was the highest in the Denver metro area. Peter continues to be the Chief Operating Officer for the company and the Branch Managers have continued in their respective positions. No additional management has been added locally by Home Services of America. Administrative functions are handled from Minneapolis.
All Real Estate is Ultimately Local
Home Services motto is “Local Real Estate Nationwide”. That is different from most national Brokerages that promote the national brand rather than local identity. H.S.A. brokerages sold over $78 billion through 480 offices and more than 26,000 local real estate agents.
Niederman says 2017 will not hold any big changes for the operation of Kentwood Real Estate. The brand and management will all remain locally controlled. “We just want to keep doing what we have always done. We pride ourselves on our excellent service to clients and our brokers”.
