Evergreen Colorado History

Evergreen’s history is one based  around its beautiful surroundings and mild weather. It was once the stomping grounds of Denver’s elite vacationers looking to escape the sweltering heat of the big city. In the 1920’s Evergreen, Colorado was just far enough from Denver that it was the perfect destination for wealthy Denverites . Roads and vehicles has just been improved to allow for safe travel.

The crystal clear Bear Creek and snow capped  mountain tops of Mount  Evans provide the same soothing atmosphere today as it did then. And,  it now offers an easy commute to downtown Denver while cutting the trip to the ski areas by up to an hour. In fact, one new ski area Echo Mountain is close enough that many Evergreen snowboarders and skiers will run up right after school or a half-day of work!

Wide Open Spaces

Jefferson County Open Spaces are prevalent here in Evergreen with several great parks for mountain biking and hiking. Those include Elk Meadows, Lair O’ the Bear, Three Sisters and several others offering beautiful single track through lush meadows and beautiful Denver Suburbs Evergreen Coloradoforests. For a more casual approach to recreation, Evergreen Lake is a great place to paddle a canoe. Or, try your hand at fly fishing, while winter time creates an ideal setting for outdoor ice skating and pond hockey.

Evergreen Colorado homes for sale include  condominiums, starter homes, a wide variety mid-priced homes. Also,  horse properties and luxury homes are sure to impress even the most discerning tastes.

Evergreen sits at approximately 7,220 feet above sea level and includes land in both Jefferson and Clear Creek Counties. Bordered by Interstate 70 to it’s north, Evergreen has quick access to the endless adventures of the Mountains to the West. Plus, it has quick access to

I have visited in this area several times and think you have done a nice job of capturing the feeling of the area. One thing I would add is how immersing oneself in the beauty of the area seems to replenish the soul’s need for refreshment. I always feel that my internal batteries have been recharged and I feel empowered to survive life’s challanges. Beautiful area. Nice pictures. Makes me want to move there permanently.

Love this area! What’s the commute like from north Evergreen (right by I-70) and LoDo? Be to work by 8:30 and leave work after 6:30?
