A New Plan for the National Western in It’s Original Neighborhood
For several years the plan was to move the historic venue out to the suburbs near Aurora. But, this history of traditional site would be abandoned. Now, a new plan has emerged that will keep the National Western on it original site. In addition, this new plan stands to benefit several of the Denver neighborhood
This past Fall, I was fortunate to sit in on a presentation by Kyle Baun, the Senior Manager for the Western Stock Show Association. Kyle laid out for us the exciting plans to develop and expand the 250+ acre site. The goal of this 7 year, $765 million project is to form a new, permanent campus for the annual event and more. The new facilities will serve as a hub for agricultural development, entertainment, education, and cultural convergence. The plans are extensive and laid out in a 130 page Master Plan.
