Downtown Denver has many great communities. Some are even new Town Centers like Lowry, the former Air Force base. One of the many reasons people love living in Lowry in Denver is the urban neighborhood feel. If you take a stroll around the town center at any given time you will see the restaurants filled, people enjoying a nice frozen custard and residents taking advantage of living in a suburb within the City. One of the many things that the Lowry Community Master Association (LCMA) excels at is planning a variety of events throughout the year for the residents and this summer/fall is no exception.
As the summer in winding down and the kiddos are headed back to school, there are still a few upcoming outdoor events to squeeze out the last of this incredible summer weather we’ve been having. If you don’t already have plans, there is a free outdoor movie tonight, August 19, featuring the 80’s classic E.T. at Crescent Park @ 8th & Roslyn. Come early to get a seat on the lawn and the LCMA will provide popcorn and ice cream! The movie will start roughly around 8pm or whenever it becomes dark. Bring a blanket and picnic if you would like to arrive early to enjoy the band Yo’ Mamas and Papas . If you are tired after a long day of work and can’t prepare dinner, do not fret, food will be available for purchase. Great weather, ET and yummy food…what could be better on a Friday night?!
First Lowry Movie night of the summer on June 26, featuring Harry Potter
If you happen to miss the movie night, plan ahead for the Lowry Wine and Walk Concert which will take place on September 10, 2011 at the Lowry Town Center.
Get your tickets at 5:30 and enjoy tasting various wines throughout the town center. For one lucky participant, you can even win a $500 shopping spree! With the holidays just a handful of months away, this could come in handy! There will also be a free concert that begins at 8pm, followed by more drink specials at the local Italian restaurant Serioz (who, by the way, has the best breadsticks in town).
I don’t know about you, but hearing about all of these great events makes me want to call Lowry my home. There is a great community vibe and so many fun things to do! And if for some crazy reason you can’t make it to the movie night or Wine and Walk Concert, stay tuned because the events are year round!!

What a great place! I haven’t heard of many cities that have that much to do there – I think Boston has a great deal of community events, but Denver seems like a really great place to live as well! It is so nice when a community brings people together!
This is a great way to know the people in your neighborhood. How I wish we have that kind of event in our area. The next event sounds more promising!
Great events are among of the many exciting things that people will gather in a certain place. This can absolutely attract tourists and prospective home buyers. I, for myself, love to attend events like those in Denver and I’m sure I’ll enjoy when I am there. 🙂
