Louisville is located 6 miles east of Boulder.  As such, it enjoys “spillover” from Boulder’s booming economy at the University of Colorado and new Google campus. Its 20,000 residents helped to earn MONEY Magazines top-five list of places to live in the United States. In fact, Louisville made that prestigious list two years in a row.

This Denver suburb is even impressive than the awards. Why? Because, great schools, open space and outdoor recreations combines with older homes in historic, downtown Louisville. Also, new and newer homes sell outside of Downtown.

built between 1890-1940. So, local residents love to walk around the downtown area. There, they enjoy shopping in the stores and the food and entertainment at local restaurants. In addition, the town bulges in the summertime with tourists and music festivals. Therefore, it’s not unusual to find top names in country, pop and jazz playing outside in the pavilion. First of all, there are summer festivals and activities throughout the summer.  Secondly, they are geared toward family entertainment.

Louisville was incorporated in 1982. However, it was really established by coal miners working at local mines almost a century before that. As a result, the main street of the town still reflects the wide variety of nationalities that founded the town. For example, just look at some of the ethnic references in some of the restaurant names.

Turn-of-the century charm radiates in many of the neighborhoods downtown and close to town. However, custom homes were built around the Coal Creek Golf Course. Most importantly, it’s public and offers 18 holes of golf.  Also, Flat Irons Mall is located nearby. It boasts one of only three Colorado Nordstrom stores, Interlocken Business Park, boutique shopping and superb restaurants.

Boulder County Public Schools

Finally, outstanding Boulder County schools make Louisville a very desirable place to live for children’s education. Check out the public school rankings by clicking any of the links at the top of this page. Or, request any other public or private school and it will be emailed directly.
