Louisville is located 6 miles east of Boulder. As such, it enjoys “spillover” from Boulder’s booming economy at the University of Colorado and new Google campus. Louisville was incorporated in 1982. However, it was really established by coal miners working at local mines almost a century before that. Turn-of-the century charm radiates in many of the neighborhoods downtown and close to town. However, custom homes were built around the Coal Creek Golf Course. Most importantly, it’s public and offers 18 holes of golf. Also, Flat Irons Mall is located nearby. It boasts one of only three Colorado Nordstrom stores, Interlocken Business Park, boutique shopping and superb restaurants.
