Douglas County is located just South of the Denver Metro area. For many years it was best known for its wide open spaces and western lifestyle ranchettes. These homes are usually horse properties, located in rural areas with mountain views, ponderosa pine trees, and scrub oaks naturally growing on the properties. These more rural-feeling communities are less than 30 minutes to the Denver Technology Center (DTC) and less than 50 minutes to Denver International Airport (DIA).
