Congress Park is located just to the North and within easy walking distance of the fashionable Cherry Creek shopping center area. However, homes here are older than those found in neighboring Cherry Creek. Many have been remodeled to today’s standards. The farther North you move from the Cherry Creek Shopping Center, the less expensive the real estate becomes. Grand homes grace the tree-lined boulevard of the 7th Avenue Parkway area. These homes are generally priced above $900,000. However, smaller Denver Bungalows and Denver Squares are also located in the Congress Park area and are priced between $300,000 to $700,000.

Congress Park is named for the Denver park bearing the name. It has tennis courts and a public pool, along with fields for soccer and baseball.
Interestingly enough, that park used to be a Denver cemetery around the turn of the last Century. Don’t worry, though, most of the remains were removed. In fact, it took an act of the United States Congress to convert the cemetery to a park. In gratitude, Denver named this place “Congress Park”.
Congress Park is also very close to Capitol Hill and the Denver hospital areas. Commuting to downtown Denver is less than 15 minutes. The easy walk to nearby Botanic Gardens is an added benefit. The gardens have a stunning variety of plants and flowers. Summer concerts are a favorite evening event.
Congress Park is also near Cheesman Park. Cheesman Park has a street running through the large park making for easy access and parking. It has beautiful flower beds and a band shed area. Homes there tend to be even older with Victorian style. The exclusive “Humboldt Island” is an historic area which has several “Grand Old Ladies” from that bygone era. Unlike Congress Park, apartments and condominiums are ubiquitous in the Cheesman Park area.
