Washington Park’s City Appeal
By Larry HotzDenver’s Loft and Condo Dwellers Love Washington Park
By John Stegner and Brian Lehnerz
Washington Park already has tremendous appeal for single family home buyers who want to enjoy the rich lifestyle the park and it’s two lakes offer it’s residents. But, rarely do Denver loft and condo buyers consider ‘The Park”.
If you are considering purchasing a loft or condo in the Denver area you may want to check out Denver’s Washington Park neighborhood. Haven’t visited Washington Park yet? You should, but before you do, find out why Denver’s loft and condo dwellers love Washington Park!
Rich History, Beautiful Scenery
Designed in 1899 by Reinhard Schuetze, Washington Park is 162 acres of dedicated green space including two lakes; Smith and Grasmere. Carriage ways (aka, running paths) meander through the park and groves of trees line the lakes and meadows. Washington Park also has famous flower gardens; 54 beds to be exact including one bed that is an exact replica of the one kept by Martha Washington. Denver condo and loft owners love having these expansive green spaces within walking distance of their doorsteps.
Recreation, Recreation, Recreation
Want to get out of your Downtown Denver condo or loft and spend the day outdoors? Washington Park offers something for everyone. There are trails lining the park that can be used for walking or jogging (with or without your furry friends of course). Several tennis courts offer a chance for Denver locals to play a friendly game against each other. There are also several playgrounds inside the park that provide hours of entertainment for the kids. Washington Park even has a lawn bowling/crochet field for some old fashioned sporting.
It’s Not All about the Outdoors
Washington Park also features an indoor recreational facility. This facility has a gym with free weights, an indoor swimming pool, and athletic facilities. If your Denver condo or loft didn’t come equipped with a fitness center you can still get a good workout in at the Washington Park recreational facility. More information about the recreation center is available at the Washington Park website.
Host Your Party in Historic Style
Possibly one of the best aspects of Washington Park is its historical building, the Smith Lake Boathouse. The boathouse located on the edge of Smith Lake can be rented out for parties and other events. The design of the boathouse is elegant and will add flair to any party. If your loft or condo is simply too small to accommodate your large event you can rent out the space year-round. More information, including rental prices, for the Smith Lake Boathouse is available at the city of Denver’s Website.
