You’d think this is a White Christmas in Denver. It’s picture perfect.

But, wait. It’s Springtime in the Rockies. And, anything goes when it comes to weather.  We are having the biggest snowstorm of year. We are expecting 15-24 inches of snow and melting snow. But, the Plump Robin looks like he can weather this storm.

In Lone Tree, Colorado, so far, about 8 inches has stuck to the ground. The roads are slushy and snowy. But, they are passable right now. When night falls, so will those pesky temperatures.  So, we won’t be going out on what could be treacherous roads throughout the Denver area.

So, why would anyone want to live here. Well, the weather is fun. This week we were in the 70’s and those temperatures will return by Tuesday. This is just a rare April blizzard. Most natives will tell you: “We need the moisture”. In fact, this storm should insure plenty of water for the summer and fall. Most communities won’t need any water restrictions.

Yes, it’s great living in Colorado. Even the weather is fun and surprising.

  1. “Fun” is a great way to describe it. I’ll try to remember that here (Austin, Texas) when it’s 110 in the shade this summer.
