Sedalia is a small town located south of Highlands Ranch and just northwest Castle Rock off US 85. It boasts a Five Star Restaurant named Gabriel´s which features continental food.. Just for the fun of it, Sedalia is also home to Bud’s the down-home funky home of the best burger in Denver according to the newspaper Westword.

Sedalia is more then a town, its an entry point to the foothills, just to the west. There yo discover some of the best trout fishing in the state as well as “tubing” in the Platte River. There is also hiking and even ATV exploration in the National Forest.

From Sedalia west, there are many rustic cabins and grand homes built into the wooded, rolling foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The Arapahoe National Forest provides habitat for recreation, fishing and camping.

Traveling west from Sedalia is the town of Deckers Colorado. There´s not much to the town but it is a favorite destination for trout fisherman. The streams around Deckers are home to some of the best trout fishing in the state of Colorado and some would argue in the country.

Deckers also has rustic homes as well as large, newly constructed real estate. These homes are not built with any of the fancy amenities of the city. Rather, wells provide water and septic tanks and leech fields provide each properties sewer system. Electricity is generally available don´t try to plug in a cable TV.

Commute time from rural Sedalia to Denver is approximately 30-45 minutes. From Deckers the commute would be slightly over an hour. People who like this area point out that it has not gained the popularity of similar area off more traveled roads such as I-70 and US Highway 285. Parts of Sedalia and the Deckers area are still undiscovered, even by people living in Denver. Real estate here can be secluded and rural even while being close to Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Denver and Waterton Canyon home of Lockheed Martin.
