Founded in 1981, Highlands Ranch is a 22,000-acre master-planned community that prides itself on being "a family friendly, backyard bar-be-que, lucky-to-live-in-Colorado" kind of place. Although this unique community was founded in 1981, the first pioneers
came to establish this area more than 100 years ago. In 1977, after passing through a number of different owners and functions, a group of Denver business men finally sold the ranch and surrounding land to to the Mission Viejo Company, a California-based master planner and land developer. The first homes in Highlands Ranch were offered for sale in 1981. In 1997, the J.F.
