Bow Mar is located just 12 mile southwest of Downtown Denver, bordering the City of Littleton. It is one of Denver’s smallest incorporated cities. This area is home to only about 847 residents. Bow Mar is so small that it’s municipal government pretty
much consists of one police car and one policeman. Although Bow Mar is close to the Mile High City, it maintains a small, charming, community atmosphere. This suburbs was incorporated in 1958 and had grown continually more popular. Many are attracted to Bow Mar’s fantastic views of the Colorado foothills, large lots and overall air of exclusivity.
Bow Mar’s offers many private amenities to its residents. The Bow Mar Lake is a popular family spot with a private Yacht club, sand beach and picnic areas. The lake does allow fishing and sail boats, but no motorized craft is allowed. Bow Mar also has it’s own private bird sanctuary, tennis courts, sports facility and walking trails. Guests must always be accompanied by a Bow Mar resident.
Bow Mar has about 300 single-family homes. Most lots in the Bow Mar area are about one acre. Many of them have outstanding mountain and lake views, but be careful - they are offered at quite a premium! Most homes in this area range from $450,000 - 1,400,000.
Bow Mar is served by Littleton Public Schools. In 2004, five schools in the Littleton Public School district received the National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award.Two schools within the system were included in Newsweek magazines list of the best schools in America. Student ACT and SAT scores within both school systems rank well above the Colorado or National averages.
