Today it is a substantial residential neighborhood with many beautiful homes from the 1930´s and 1940´s. There are some relatively newer homes mixed in here as well. However, Bonnie Brae today is best known for its brand new "scraper" homes. These are brand new "Mc Mansions" have replaced many of the traditional Tudor and ranch style homes and are more than suitable for the new urban sophisticate.
One of Denver´s most popular and historic pizza parlors is here in the Bonnie Brae business district, alongside an ice cream shop, a spectacular wine store, and several local eateries. Local residents can easily walk to these many nearby amenities including the public library.
Bonnie Brae is bordered by University on the west and Steele on the east; Bonnie Brae Blvd on the north and Louisiana on the
south. What is now being called Bonnie Brae south is located south of Louisiana and north of I-25. Builders are also buying lots in this areaas it ispredicted that the new light rail station (located at University and I-25) will be a popular draw for local residents.
The commute to downtown Denver from Bonnie Brae is less than 15 minutes and it’s only 5 minutes to the nearby Cherry Creek shopping center. Even Washington Park is only a 5 minute bicycle ride away.
