Denver Neighborhoods and Suburbs

The truth is there are many, many neighborhoods offering a variety of many different kinds of lifestyles for everyone’s needslake-jacki and tastes. The number 1 destination for relocation families in the Denver metropolitan area is Highlands Ranch, a planned community on Denver’s South side. Also Southern Aurora, Greenwood Village, Cherry Hills, Centennial, Littleton, Englewood and Bow Mar are popular with families. Western suburbs include Lakewood, Arvada, Golden, Evergreen, Conifer, Morrison and Bailey. Northwest and north are Westminster, Arvada, Boulder, Lafayette, Louisville, Longmont and Erie.

Luxury Denver real estate buyers tend to focus on Cherry Hills, Greenwood Village and Boulder for the highest rated schools and Evergreen and Castle Pines for mountain ambiance.

Because Denver is such a large metropolitan area, the location of employment often drives neighborhood decisions. It’s hard to find any “bad choices”.

Downtown Denver Real Estate

Cherry Creek Single Family Home
For younger folks and empty nesters, Downtown Denver real estate, for example, offers lofts, condominiums and town homes for people really want to be “in the action”. Lower Downtown (LoDo) is particularly popular for people under 40 years of age. The amenities there, such as restaurants and night clubs, as well as all the sporting venues and the Denver Center for the Performing Arts attract young people who are anxious to be in the flow of the biggest city in the 5 state region. Other neighborhoods within Denver offer more residential flavoring, such as Hilltop, Denver Country Club, Washington Park, Platte Park, Bonnie Brae, and University Park. And, of course, the suburbs offer a variety of different kinds of housing options for families and single people as well.

Highlands Ranch viewEmpty nesters and retirees tend to flock to the popular Cherry Creek fashion shopping center area and boutique shops. Cherry Creek also has  artist studios, fine dining restaurants, night life and 7 coffee shops. Patio home communities in the nearby suburbs are also popular such as Gleneagles in Highlands Ranch and southern Aurora, Castle Rock and even in Denver itself.

Younger single people tend to like the Lower Downtown area as well as Lowry and Stapleton on Denver’s East side. These 2 communities have been recently redeveloped and offer newer housing and loft lifestyles resembling the popular Lo-Do and Uptown areas. Washington Park is another favorite choice for the 20 to 35-ish crowd.
