Cherry Creek offers Townhomes, Condos and Single Family Homes

Cherry Creek offers Townhomes, Condos and Single Family Homes

What is Cherry Creek in Denver?  You’d think, that should be easy to answer. It’s not an easy question because Cherry Creek is several different things in Denver.

Most people think of it as the Cherry Creek Shopping Center.  That’s the very upscale shopping mall located near the Denver Country Club in downtown Denver. In addition to the chic shops in the mall itself, the surrounding area is a virtual boutique unto itself.  Restaurants, art galleries and specialty stores abound there.  It’s a pedestrian paradise with plenty to see and do.  Cherry Creek real estate also has a variety of lofts and condos, townhomes and single-family homes. Stapleton Forum discussed the issues around medical marijuana

OK, I admit it. I am a little concerned about how medical marijuana might impact the neighborhood I love so much in Stapleton. But, I have an open mind and I want to know as much as possible about the issues around it.

So, I recently  attended the Stapleton Community Forum for an update on what is going on with the medical marijuana dispensary opening in Stapleton and also to get a pulse on what my neighbors were thinking.   Read More→

Controversy in Denver's Stapleton neighborhood over medical marijuana.

Controversy in Denver's Stapleton neighborhood over medical marijuana.

Consternation and controversy among some Stapleton residents is brewing over a new use for a former coffee house. A medical marijuana dispensary is slated to occupy the former location of Perk and Play in Stapleton.

The irony is that Perk and Play was a neighborhood hang-out for mothers and their children. They served coffee, crepes and snacks and had a great indoor play area.

The medical marijuana dispensary is scheduled to open for business in the next few months. While the younger, single crowd at Stapleton might care less, families are more concerned about this new business and the risks it brings to our neighborhood. Read More→

Five Things That Will Insure the Future Value of a Denver Loft or Condo.

Downtown Denver Lofts and Condos: Buy for Resale Value too.

Downtown Denver Lofts and Condos: Buy for Resale Value too.

I love to find just the right loft or condo for a downtown Denver real estate buyer. Downtown has so much to offer as a lifestyle. It’s fun. It’s practical. It’s convenient to everything. But,I am always careful to look for five qualities that will insure my Buyer’s future condo value.

A Denver loft or condo can be a great investment for virtually any family. It can be an ideal choice for first-time buyers looking for roommates, newlyweds or anyone who desires a low-maintenance home. Lofts and condos also make great residences for empty nesters due to their low upkeep costs and manageable size.  Also keep in mind that most condo and loft communities (if not all) take care of the exterior maintenance and yard work for their residents. Roberts School Serves Stapleton as part of Denver Public School

You may have read about the controversy in Stapleton over the school shortage.

I recently heard about a Realtor whose clients weren’t even expecting a child yet, but ruled out Stapleton because they heard that their unborn child may need to be bussed/dropped off to an outside neighborhood.

The good news is that the residents of Stapleton, Forest City – the developer of Stapleton, and Denver Public Schools are all working together to solve this problem with the short term and long term in mind.

There are currently 4 schools in Stapleton.  Westerly Creek Elementary , William Roberts , Read More→

Statpleton Town Center Development in Denver

Stapleton Town Center Development in Denver

Most people think that Stapleton is a Mecca for young professionals with 2.2 kids and a dog.Or, maybe you think it of only a place for young, single people.

Stapleton appeals to many demographics for many different reasons.  I recently began helping a couple moving to Stapleton to be closer to their daughter and granddaughter.  Their family lives in neighboring Park Hill which is known as a quiet residential neighborhood with a somewhat aging population. IRA Real Estate Purchase

By Larry Hotz, Senior Editor

One of the many reasons I love and treasure my long-term friends ( I no longer call them ‘old’ friends) is because every once in a while I learn something from them.  Mel and I been friends since college even shared season tickets to the Rockies.  He actually lives in California where he works in the television business and has a small winery.  But he loves to visit Colorado and now he’s found another way to do that.

MelsHouse

My friend Mel taught me about using an IRA to invest in real estate. This is house he just bought near the University of Denver where we first met.

He just bought a small rental property near the University of Denver.  But, he bought it with funds from his IRA account.  That’s right, he thought he needed to diversify his retirement account by investing directly in real estate. Read More→
