Greenwood Village Fitness

Greenwood Village, Colorado hosted the annual Fitness Festival last weekend. At 7:30 in the morning on Saturday, runners, joggers, walkers, fitness experts and just plain Village residents gathered at Belleview and Yosemite. The Fitness Festival was beginning.

Elizabeth and I participated with the Kentwood team which was a major sponsor again this year. The festival brought together all aspects of the impact of physical fitness on health including display booths, demonstrations,doctors and nurses. They’re also was just plain fun. Live entertainment and a extensive food presentation by local area restaurants.

Elizabeth and I came to participate in the fitness one run/walk.

We walked with our colleagues from the Kentwood company including Marla Cady who had volunteered to be the leader of our group. She did a great job and we were enthusiastically supporting her efforts. So much so, that the Kentwood company actually one the community spirit award for the second year in a row. I guess we must of had just a little more spirit than the than the other 1500 participants. At least, we like to think so!

Following the race, the food was provided by local area or restaurants was delicious. If anything there was almost too much of it. And come up there was live entertainment and several health organizations had boots to demonstrate health and wellness techniques in Greenwood Village.

The proceeds went to the Cherry Creek school District Association. That’s a nonprofit organization which helps in activities related to the public schools. Watch the video and listen to Marla explain the value of this program

The weather was fabulous. The food was excellent. And we even got a little exercise. This is just one of the many community activities in Greenwood Village that helps focus us on important issues at the same time that we have fun.
