Kentwood Company Sold
Can history repeat itself? My firm, The Kentwood Company, is in processing of transitioning to new ownership. It was acquired by Bill Moore, former Partner in the firm and former President of The National Association of Realtors, and his son-in-
law, Peter Niederman.
Fact is that Mr. Moore was a 50% partner in the elite firm in 1988 until 1998. Mr. Niederman was Chief Operating Officer of Moore and Company for many years before it was sold to NRT. It is now known as Coldwell Banker in the Denver area.
“We will not touch
the successful operation of the sales people in this company”, Moore promised in mid-May when he announced the acquisition of the firm at a Gala Celebration held at the GW Marriott in Denver’s posh Cherry Creek neighborhood. “The sales people at the Denver Tech Center office are the best in the State and among the best in the country. We wanted a first-class operation and we got it”.
All former management is still in place. There has been no changes on the sales side. Moore did announce the formation of a new company and promised other real estate services to follow. That might include a title company and/or an insurance company. The Kentwood Company has offices in Greenwood Village, Colorado and two in Denver at Cherry Creek and Lower Downtown.
We who knew Mr, Moore during his previous association are delighted to have him back as an owner/operator. He and Mr. Niederman bring the local perspectives and “market dominance” ambition that bodes well for the firm and its clients.
Can history repeat itself? It often does. So, as the Rolling Stones sang: “Here’s to the new boss, same as the old boss”.
