Highlands Puppet Theatre

Highlands is an exciting “urban pioneer” neighborhood in northwest Denver. Families that have lived here for generations mix cultures with generally younger ‘newcomers’ puppetswho have brought their venues to this historic area along with new and renovated housing options

Living here is an adventure. And, numerous opportunities exist for new experiences. One such venue is The Denver Puppet Theater.

It had been located in other Denver neighborhoods but found its permanent home here in 1996. About 100 children can attend each performance and watch performances of classics and occasionally a ‘new play’. It’s hard to tell who enjoys the show more, the children or the actors. In fact several of Denver’s prominent, professional actors have worked here including Pamela Clifton.

The vibrant yellow theater makes such a statement to that part of Denver that we have all come to know and love.  Located on 38th Avenue right in between Grove and Irving. The Denver Puppet Theater provides a piece of entertainment for our little ones that is one of a kind!

My three boys and I recently enjoyed Hansel and Gretel and found the experience to be one that created a beautiful memory for us all!  It was captivating to watch so many bright eyes as the children watched and listened in wonder of the classic tale of Hansel and Gretel.  This is just another reason to embrace the quality of life that the Highlands area provides for those who get to call it home and for those visitors that appreciate its style!  Enjoy the show!
