Denver Home Prices
by Larry Hotz, All Denver Real Estate
Even though home prices in some parts of the Denver area fell in February over the year ago period, Denver home prices held up at the fifth best level in the country according to the most recent Case- Schiller report.
The report tracked home prices in 20 cities across the United States over the last year.it found that prices dropped an average of 12.7% during that time. Denver prices dropped an average of 5.5%.
Steve Holben, a local custom home builder, takes exception to the methodology used in the report and claims the Denver market is actually better than reported by Case Schiller.
Ken Caryl Election
by Dennis Martin, Littleton Real Estate Broker
Having lived on the Ken Caryl Ranch for over 25 years and raised 3 children during that time, I’m still very active on the Ken Caryl Ranch.
Recently, we downsized and moved to the patio homes at Meadow Ranch but we have many friends who live on the Ken Caryl Ranch. Having sold Real Estate for over 30 years and many homes on the Ken Caryl Ranch, I understand that no homeowner wants to have their property taxes increase unless it will benefit the homeowner. In my opinion the proposed increase will benefit the homeowners of the Ken Caryl Ranch.
Lowry Vista Scandal
by Larry Hotz, All Denver Real Estate
A proposed 80-acre park at Lowry in Denver was sold to a private development company for only $10 when the City expressed concerns about dangerous pollution at the former Air Force base landfill.
Lowry Vista is located in the former Lowry Air Force Base which is now a thriving residential "new town" with homes, condo, shops and open spaces in the heart of Denver itself. But, this parcel has a checkered history including the dumping of chemical and possibly radioactive waste.
Erie Town Fair
by Paula King, Erie Colorado Realtor
One thing I missed when I moved from Canfield, Ohio to Los Angeles was our county fair. I thought a corn dog was the most amazing food I had ever eaten. Now that I live in another small town, I am looking forward to the 12th annual Erie Town Fair scheduled for May 17th.

by Denver relocation, Little Real Estate Expert
The Kiewit Gravel Pit has been transformed into the South Platte Reservoir near Dennis Martin, a popular Highlands Ranch suburb. Is that happening? To provide recreation opportunities and another water source to Highlands Ranch.
Play Ball at Coors Field
by Dennis Martin, Littleton Real Estate
Lower Downtown Denver was full of excitement and anticipation it was Opening Day at the Ballpark. Young and old lined the streets and the roof tops enjoying the sunny spring day. Music was playing from every local radio station as you walked the streets. It was a carnival atmosphere around 20th and Blake at our gorgeous Coors field.

When To Buy Real Estate
by Dennis Martin, Selling Denver Real Estate Over 30 Years
When to call, hold or push it all in
I get asked every week by someone “is this a good time to buy” and my answer is yes, yes and yes. The Colorado market is not in the kind of trouble faced by many other areas of the country. There are pockets in the metro are that are actually seeing appreciation.
Denver looks to be under priced. Job growth and an educated work force will provide solid demand for housing. The FHA loan revival will help moderate income house holds buy their first homes. Builders are cutting back on new homes, so the timing seems perfect.
What about the foreclosure and short sale market?
Springtime in Erie, Colorado
by Paula King, Erie Colorado Specialist
One of the perks of living in Erie is the annual Tree Incentive Program. The town subsidizes up to $125 per family for a tree purchased at one of the many local tree farms. They pay half the cost of the tree, with the aforementioned cap.
It is a great way to encourage tree growth in the area and a terrific community spirit builder. There are 700 certificates available, with a cap of $87,000. All you have to do is call the hotline at 303/926-2739 to register.
