Buyers’ Tough Lessons
By Larry Hotz, Denver real estate expert
November was tough month for four of my buyers this year.
Chris and Maria are two of the nicest and friendliest Home Buyers I have met from this website. They were just married this spring and looking forward to purchasing the perfect home to raise a new family. Highlands Ranch was their choice.
So, we looked at many new and resale homes there. Finally, they found one they liked. So, they made an offer.

City living in northwest Denver has its perks! I can’t say enough how much my dogs try to tell me: “We absolutely love living near the Berkeley Dog Park.” Well, let’s just say they know the meaning of “Park!”
After being cooped up inside all day, wouldn’t you want to run wild and free on 2 acres? Yes, this is one of seven off leash dog parks
Prospect New Town In Longmont, Colorado
by John Callis, Longmont real estate expert
Longmont has always been considered a lazy, rural town between Denver and Fort Collins. More recently it has been considered as a suburb to Boulder and even a Denver "ex-burb" for those don’t mind a longer commute to downtown Denver. Now, Longmont has a planned urban community, Prospect New Town, within its city limits.
All of a sudden sleepy Longmont has a hip, "town-center concept community" to rival Lowry and Stapleton in Denver. It’s diverse homes include stately Victorians, "Denver Squares, Brownstone row houses, lofts and even bungalows.

In case you haven’t noticed or if you are new to the city, there are a lot of changes going on! Denver has recently entered the international scene now that it will be host to both the Ritz Carlton and the Four Seasons. And in case you haven’t heard, the Democratic National Convention will be held at the newly completed Convention Center in August 2008!
Why all the fuss? Because none of these changes are occurring in Denver’s uber-popular and pricey LoDo District, that’s why. These changes are all occurring just a few blocks east in the heart and core of Denver’s Business District. This is where the light rail

by Elizabeth Hotz, First Time Homebuyer Specialist for The Kentwood Company
A majority of the homes I sell are to first-time homebuyers. Most first-time homebuyers, armed with a Realtor.com login and a city map, seem indestructible. 1. Get Pre-Approved. Before you start your search, visit a qualified and recommended Mortgage Lender and get pre-approved for a loan. Visiting with a Mortgage Lender will help you define your price range and give you a better idea of monthly payments at each price point – so there are no surprises.
Strong Colorado Economy
by Larry Hotz,
Luxury Home Specialist
Well, it’s time to celebrate! Let’s break out the beer and have a toast to the fact that Colorado has finally regained its position as it the leading manufacturer of beer in the country. We are best known for Coors beer but now it is only a part of Colorado brewing. Plus, retail sales are up. Residential and commercial vacancy rates are down and Denver and Colorado are outperforming the nation in most economic areas.
Highlands Puppet Theatre
By Kristine Holvick, The Rivera Team, Experts in Highlands Real Estate
Highlands is an exciting "urban pioneer" neighborhood in northwest Denver. Families that have lived here for generations mix cultures with generally younger ‘newcomers’
who have brought their venues to this historic area along with new and renovated housing options
Living here is an adventure. And, numerous opportunities exist for new experiences. One such venue is The Denver Puppet Theater.
